Q&A 34: Rules pulling files are changing the modify date

Q: Rules pulling files are changing the modify date. Correct, this is FTP as the source. The file(s) we’re picking up have modification dates on when they were last modified on the source’s side. However, after LimagitoX runs, it updates the modification date in Windows to whenever the rule runs. So it shows all files were updated since last time the job ran.
For example, I ran the job at 9:17am on 12/23/20 and it shows that the file that is dated 05/07/20 (from the source) was last modified right when the job ran, but in reality it wasn’t modified by either party since 5/07/20.

A: Solution, in your Source FTP (or SFTP) setup, please enable ‘Adjust File Times’ option. You can find this in the ‘Common Tab’.

Q&A 32: Error during sftp file upload with Limagito File Mover

Q: We have installed Limagito version v2020.11.21.0 with the Site+ license on a W2K19 server. When we try to transfer files to an external sftp server it doesn’t work out fine (Error during sftp file upload). The SSH connection seems fine to me , but the files won’t be uploaded. Unfortunately the other side can’t help me out and I can’t find out what is happening and why.

A: It’s look like the SFTP server is trying to use SFTP Version v4 but .. not correctly. The solution here is to only allow SFTP Version v3.

FYI: The customer is using our Second SFTP Vendor (CK).

Limagito File Mover SFTP v3 Only

    Feedback from customer:

    Great !! that did the trick. J J J

    Thanks for your support  !!!

Second Vendor – Public Key Authentication optimization

Second Vendor – Public Key Authentication optimization in Version v2020.6.27.0

As mentioned in a previous blog post we’ve added a second SFTP vendor in LimagitoX File Mover

LimagitoX File Mover SFTP Second Vendor

Vendor 2 is also able to logon using Public Key Authentication. To achieve this, the SFTP Client (our File Mover in this case) needs to add your Private Key (and Private Key Password).

LimagitoX File Mover SFTP Public Key Authentication

Quite some types of private key files can be used. It is important to use the correct file extension.

We are also able to use private keys within certificate file types like:

    • .cer, .crt, .p7b, or .pem
    • .p12 or .pfx (PKCS #12)

Note: If the PFX contains multiple certificates, the 1st certificate in the PFX is loaded.

A private key file with .ppk as extention will be threaded as a PuTTy key.

Also the following private key file types are supported:

    • KCS1, PKCS8, PEM, JWK, PVK, etc.

If you need any help , please let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Limagito Team
